The gaming desk space audit: where a drink can go
Find usable drink space without crowding your controls.
Map your mouse travel
Use your normal posture and move the mouse through its ordinary range before putting a drink down. Include the return path and where your forearm rests. A drink just beyond the mouse pad may still be inside that motion. Leave the holder outside the full working area rather than reducing your movement to accommodate it.
Include the chair and cables
A headset lead, controller cable or chair arm can cross an apparently clear corner. Check those paths too. Keep the drink away from PC vents and liquid-sensitive equipment. A wider base does not protect electronics, so choose separation first and the holder second.
Measure what remains
Steadi requires the entire 5.2-inch footprint on a level supported surface, with additional room for a hand. Do not straddle a mat edge or hang the base over the desk. If no clear zone remains, a stable side table or compatible attached holder may solve the space constraint better.
